Dr. Hogan is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur with over twenty-five years of success in founding and managing high-tech companies in the global computer and information technology industries. As CEO at four high-tech start-ups he has successfully raised millions in venture capital funding and had exits including M&A and IPO’s. As prior CEO of a 501c(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington DC, Bill brings much knowledge and passion to this field including working with over 400 entrepreneurs in 60 nations. He has a strong background in worldwide markets including aerospace and defense, wireless, telecom, high-availability embedded systems, real-time systems, online information systems, and highperformance computing. His companies have been leaders in the area of dual-use technology for the military and aerospace industries, focusing on innovation, technology transfer and IP licensing.

Bill has spent the past five years working with the Naval Air Warfare Center China Lake, NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center and many others to establish a consortium comprised of universities, high-tech start-ups, venture capital, federal and national laboratories and military installations for the purpose of collaborations, bi-directional technology transfer, entrepreneurship, STEM activities and local economic development.

Bill was a Fellow, Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) when he researched his thesis at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He holds a PhD in Computational Physics jointly through the University of Miami and the Institute of Advanced Studies, Walden University. He received both his MS and BS degrees in Physics from Florida Atlantic University. Bill was also a professor in the MBA program Graduate School of Business, Florida Institute of Technology and completed the AEA Executive Management course at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. He is the author of over 40 published articles, books and white papers. Bill is married, has two children, and resides in the San Francisco Bay area.
