All of us have had a business Idea, a way to make things better, a way to create a new project but... How should I start? Is a Business Incubator the right way to go?

But... Have you think of going South of the border to reach an Incubator?
In this panel you will hear about 3 organizations dedicated to help entrepreneurs, you will learn what resources are available in Tijuana and why you should consider to apply to their programs.
And you never know... we might have Tequila to start and celebrate this Binational Track!

Think Inclusion; Not Diversity: An Interactive Brain Splatter Session on Making San Diego Tech Succeed in Toto
"Diversity is being invited to the Party; Inclusion is Being Asked to Dance" - Vernã Myers, Esq.,

Diversity is used in almost every conversation regarding tech; not enough women, not enough people of color, not enough of something else. Yet being invited not always means you have a voice at the table. Inclusion is a more powerful word that encapsulates that if you make everyone welcome, you will attract everyone, and they in turn can add more to the conversation.

In this interactive session, we will be writing on the walls, literally; thoughts, ideas, goals, solutions, and a wishlist of what can be. We will have several moderators who will be reading questions from the audience as well as some questions sent in prior to the event. This is an INCLUSIVE event - to truly create an Inclusion Manifesto at the end of the evening, we need all voices. We need your voice. Men and Women. After the session, we will be scribing all the words and phrases into a report on how to make inclusion as common a word at a startup as craft brew and ping pong. What you'll need: an open mind, Sharpies, and a willingness to learn and teach.

Innovation: Building Bridges
When we think about our neighbors the first thought that comes to mind is our next-door neighbors right? We might know their Saturday morning routine of walking their dog, picking up the newspapers, or their Friday night gatherings that make it difficult for us to sleep. But how much do you really know about them other than their basic routine? A similar concept can be applied to our neighbors that are just a couple miles away. Perhaps you never thought about Tijuana as your neighbors but based on the geographic location and proximity of our two cities it is not far fetched to understand that we share more neighborly characteristics that we once thought and now are coming to understand. The V2 Pitch Competition, the University of San Diego’s flagship Entrepreneurship event for bi-national collaboration is the perfect example of two countries working together to support the next generation of entrepreneurs.  In just 3 years we have tripled our fund, the number of entrants to the competition,  and community participation. We are proud to build bridges at the University of San Diego.

South Landing
Soft landing.- a controlled landing of a spacecraft during which no serious damage is incurred.

South landing.-  a controlled landing of a startup to a LatAm market segment or industry, either because the business is looking to test, launch or shifting to growth.

There are two important factors that have influenced the rapid startup surge in LatAm fast-growing market: technology, and consumer confidence.

This workshop will provide a baseline for you to anticipate your startup performance and costs against the performance and costs of others in Tijuana, Mexico and Latin America markets.

With this knowledge, you can begin to understand where to focus your optimization efforts within a particular market, and ultimately receive more in return for your test, launch or growth endeavors.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • Latino consumers general attributes

  • Social media benchmark penetration
