Evan Malter
ZipCap CEO
Greater San Diego Area
Evan Malter founded ZipCap in 2013 to further his mission to strengthen local economies. He worked previously with Local Mom & Pops as founder and CEO of FingerPrint Web Design (FPWD), a firm that partnered with small businesses to strengthen the community of their customers while also expanding their reach and revenues as a result. At the time (2001), these businesses had little access to affordable web strategies. A decade later, as Evan began considering how he could help small businesses again, he set his sights on access to affordable capital. Evan combined his experience with FPWD and lessons learned working in the financial world to create an exciting new financing ecosystem that would help shift capital from Wall Street to Main Street.Evan's passions and experiences extend well beyond helping local businesses. The Columbia University graduate spent many years as a sports play-by-play announcer and also moved abroad with his family, spending six years traveling around the world shooting fine-art photography. His extensive volunteer efforts includes work with local economies, education and youth activities. He runs marathons, plays golf, co-owns a horse racing operation, travels and spends as much time as possible with his wife and two sons at his home near San Diego.
