After 16+ years in Silicon Valley hi-tech, I moved to San Diego area and fell in love with it. For the last 6 months, I have put all my energy in understanding what the San Diego hi-tech ecosystem is made of (met a big bunch of people: VCs, incubators, entrepreneurs, EDC, etc) and in evangelizing it inside and outside of the area.
I believe that we have all the needed ingredients to succeed in developing our hi-tech ecosystem and in fostering a healthy start up environment. We need to promote our local successes, be proud of what we are doing and market it well in order to get eye balls from the rest of California: it will get us money too! :-)
